Color CoordiNATION Conference 2009: Interaction
September 11-13, 2009
Location TBA
The Color CoordiNATION Conference 2009: Interaction seeks to bring together LGBTQ and allies, rural and urban people of color (and white allies) from across Minnesota to forge bonds of community among an incredibly diverse spectrum of people. Our theme, WE ARE…, seeks to the open doors of healthy self-identification, communication and accessibility with the vision of developing opportunities for leadership; increased connections and respectful, knowledgeable interactions; community development; and to share and learn firsthand about effective and practical approaches to empowering our communities in the challenges and opportunities presented to them by a changing political climate.
Building on the success of the formation of the Color CoordiNATION organization and the inaugural 2007 conference, and with support from the Rainbow Health Initiative and Tobacco-Free Lavender Communities, Pillsbury United Communities, and PFund -- the 2009 conference will engage attendees through a variety of informative sessions, interactive workshops, skills development, debates, and more, each with an emphasis on profiling real life success stories. For more information, please contact colorcoordination@gmail.com.
